Licensing of ADSelfService Plus

In order to use ADSelfService Plus, the product license needs to be purchased and applied. After an ADSelfService Plus license is purchased, you'll receive an email containing the ADSelfService Plus license file. This section will explain the:

Types of ADSelfService Plus editions :

ADSelfService Plus is available in four editions: Evaluation, Free, Standard and Professional.

Evaluation edition : When you install ADSelfService Plus for the first time, the Evaluation edition will be installed. It offers all the features available in the Professional edition and can be used free for 30 days. After 30 days, it is automatically converted to the Free edition unless a Standard or Professional edition license is purchased and applied. For purchasing the license or any licensing related questions, please contact sales@manageengine.com. The license file will be sent through email.

The features offered in the Evaluation, Free, Standard and Professional editions are listed below:
Evaluation Free Standard Professional
  1. Supports unlimited users
  2. Expires in 30 days
  3. Supports all features of the Professional edition
  1. Supports up to 50 domain users
  2. Never expires
  3. Supports all features of Professional edition
  1. Supports an unlimited number of domain users
  2. Annual or perpetual subscription
  3. Supported features:
    1. Self-service password reset and account unlock
    2. Password Expiration Notifications
    3. Password Policy Enforcer (web portal and mobile app only)
    4. Password synchronization and single sign-on
    5. Mobile password management
    6. Self-directory update, employee search, and mail group subscription
    7. External MS SQL database support
  1. Supports an unlimited number of domain users
  2. Annual or perpetual subscription
  3. Offers all features of the Standard edition, and:
    1. Windows/macOS/Linux login agent
    2. Endpoint multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Windows, macOS, and Linux logons
    3. Custom Password Policy Enforcer
    4. Cached Credentials Update over VPN

Types of ADSelfService Plus subscriptions

Annual subscription : As the name suggests, this offers product use for a period of one year. For continued access to the product, the license needs to be renewed annually. Annual subscriptions are available for both the Standard and the Professional editions of ADSelfService Plus. Prices for the annual subscription include the annual maintenance and support fees.

Perpetual subscription : Once purchased, the perpetual subscription need not be renewed. Clients only have to pay the annual maintenance and support fees. Perpetual subscriptions are available for both the Standard and the Professional editions of ADSelfService Plus.

How to apply the license file and upgrade the ADSelfService Plus edition

  1. Open the ADSelfService Plus admin portal.
  2. Click the License link in the top-right corner. This will open up the License Details pop-up window.
  3. Click Browse, and select the appropriate license file (License.xml).
  4. Click Upgrade to upgrade the Evaluation or Free edition to the Standard or Professional edition.
